About

About the Nsansa Group

NSANSA first started with 23 boys arrested by the police. There are now 60 boys from the age 6 yrs. to 24 yrs.that live in Nsansa. It has been estimated there are 30,000 children on the streets of Lusaka. This does not include the elderly, widows or the prostitutes. We are only helping a small number, but we are making a difference. Through activities undertaken and planned Nsansa will be nearer to achieving their vision and making a difference to society.

Our Vision

To rescue street children, restore lost hope and lost dignity for the less privileged children in our society. To effectively provide holistic services to the vulnerable children and usher them into society as highly self-esteemed individuals in our communities.

Core Values

  • Quality Services – We strive to offer the best services to victims of various circumstances
  • Team work– Everyone’s contribution matters a lot and is highly valued for sustenance of our mission statement
  • Flexibility– We adjust to suit the expectations of our clientele’s yet still remain focused to achieving our goal and mission.

Expected impact

Social

Significant improvement in quality service provision in:

  • Health: The facilities will help mothers and under five children with a decent shelter for provision of health services which currently is a big challenge for both volunteer health personnel and the clients. There will be better and improved health conditions amongst children.
  • Livelihood: The survival life skills trainings for the rehabilitated children will impart life survival skills which will assure them with a livelihood. Upon reintegration with their families they will also roll out such skills to their peers. The earmarked trainings include tailoring for the girl children and surrounding mothers while men will be trained in carpentry.
  • Education: The acquired knowledge will help children to compete and seek trainings in different fields and acquire vocational skills including perusing degrees thus eradicating poverty at household level

Economic

  • Lack of employment: The current livelihoods in the community hinge greatly on charcoal burning which apparently possess a great impact on climate change. Provision of life skills training will allow the locals to engage in economic activities and will provide the needed employment amongst the youths.
  • High levels of poverty: Because there are limited livelihood activities that the people are engaged in, the levels of poverty keep on raising and has a drastic effect on health such as malnutrition amongst children.

Stimulant for broader social economic growth

  • The acquired skills will provide life sustaining abilities for provision of income and as such will contribute to a broader economic growth across all sectors at community level.

“The ability to get the young people form the streets and reframe their lives, pushing their focus on christ and not the times they have been subjected to, getting them out of Drugs and all the mental mismatch that comes with being on the street is a great blessing. The point of allowing different people like us form different countries to join such a big cause in the different viable way is a blessing.” – Lukyamuzi Allan Nagwano Jr. from Uganda 🇺🇬
